Business address for an LLC: match each address field
Start with your state form and the exact field you need to complete. An LLC can have several address roles.

Separate the three address roles
A mailing address receives routine correspondence. A principal-office or physical-business field concerns the business location described by that form. A registered-agent address is for the designated legal-notice role. The wording and requirements vary by jurisdiction and recipient; a mailbox provider offering an address does not establish acceptance.
Build a field-by-field worksheet
| Where you will use it | What to record |
|---|---|
| State formation filing | Field name, instructions, permitted address types, and publication rules. |
| Registered-agent designation | State eligibility, physical presence or availability requirements, and provider coverage. |
| Bank application | Separate physical and mailing fields, required evidence, and bank confirmation. |
| Website and invoices | Mail receipt, business-name permission, and a reliable customer-contact route. |
A practical purchase sequence
- Choose the filing jurisdiction and open its official instructions.
- List every intended address use; mark unanswered requirements.
- Confirm the address and exact recipient name with the provider.
- Check included agent or mailbox services in any formation package to avoid duplicate charges.
- Buy only after the required recipients confirm acceptance.
If you already formed your LLC
Changing mail delivery does not automatically update business records. List filings, licenses, bank records, invoices, and subscriptions that may need updates. Ask the relevant agency about its amendment process and public-record implications; do not assume an old address disappears.
Continue with LLC setup options, mailbox vs. registered-agent roles, or your setup plan.
